Donations Donation to Special Olympics of Maine Photo: (left) AnneMarie Doane, Vice President of Financial Services of Central Maine FCU, presented the check to Denise Nowinski of Tricorp FCU. Central Maine Federal Credit Union has donated $500 to Special Olympics Maine. The funds are used for new events, programs, Camp Tall Pines, necessary equipment, and for scholarships for those athletes who cannot afford to attend games without financial assistance.
Seniors Plus/ Meals on Wheels Receives Donation
from Central Maine Credit Union Central Maine Federal Credit Union has donated $500 to SeniorsPlus, to be used for their Meals on Wheels service. SeniorsPlus believes in maintaining the independence, dignity and quality of life of older adults by working consistently to remove barriers and striving to provide services in a reliable and coordinated manner. It is a private non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors and Advisory Council. Most of the programs depend on volunteers to deliver meals to shut-ins and seniors recovering at home, and give rides to seniors who can’t drive to medical appointments, errands, church and other social needs throughout Lewiston, Auburn, Lisbon, Sabattus, Greene and Livermore Falls. Roger Ouellette, Nutrition Manager for SeniorsPlus, accepted the donation from Vicki L. Stuart, CEO of Central Maine FCU.
Central Maine Credit Union Makes Donation to
The Children’s Miracle Network Central Maine Federal Credit Union recently donated $595 to the Children’s Miracle Network. The funds were raised through the efforts of the Credit Union’s Member Service Representatives who promoted and sold chocolate bars to members. The proceeds will be used to benefit the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Accepting the donation was Kristen Drinkert, Children’s Miracle Network Development Coordinator at Maine Medical Center. Chamber Kids for the Holidays
Through the generosity of members and staff of Central Maine Federal Credit Union, a large box of toys and items for children was filled at the Credit Union to help make Christmas special for hundreds of kids in Androscoggin County.
On December 16th, members of the Chamber of Commerce collected the items to "Stuff the Bus." All of the items will be distributed to children in the community through Advocates for Childre, Tri-County Mental Health and Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care. A check for $250.00 was also presented to the Chamber for this cause. New Beginnings of Lewiston Receives Donation from Central Maine Credit Union
New Beginnings recently received a check for $1,500 for their 5K Central Maine Credit Union Run for Homeless Youth. Dawne Havener, New Beginnings Board Member and Chair of the 5K Race, accepted the donation from Vicki Stuart, President/CEO of Central Maine Credit Union. The 5K Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, September 13. The course is a 3.1 mile moderately flat run starting and ending at Gas Works Park on Lincoln Street in Lewiston. Registration will be from 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. and the Race begins at 9:00 A.M. Entry fee is $15.00 per runner/walker. Free knit running cap or T-shirt to the first 100 registrants. New Beginnings is a non-profit agency located in Lewiston. The mission of New Beginnings is to assist adolescents who are in crisis due to unstable living situations to grow socially and emotionally so they can build self-respect and lead productive lives.
Androscoggin Head Start Receives Donation from Central Maine Credit Union Central Maine Federal Credit Union has donated $500 towards Androscoggin Head Start’s Health and Nutrition program. Androscoggin Head Start is a program for children and their families, providing pre-school and child care services, education, nutrition and support. Their programs emphasize physical, cognitive, social-emotional and educational development. Central Maine Credit Union Makes Donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn/ Lewiston  Central Maine Federal Credit Union has donated $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn and Lewiston, located at 43 Second Street in Auburn. The primary focus of the Boys & Girls Club is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Club, celebrating 100 years as a positive place for kids, offers a variety of programs to youth ages 6-18. Robert A. Clark, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Club, accepted the donation from Vicki L. Stuart, CEO of Central Maine FCU.
Donation Made to Greater Androscoggin Humane Society at Credit Union's 58th Annual Meeting
 Steven Dostie, Rene Morin Central Maine Federal Credit Union recently held its 58th Annual Meeting at St. Dominic’s Regional High School in Auburn. After the business meeting, a special donation of $1,000 was presented to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society for making a difference in our animals’ lives and helping us keep our community humane. The shelter is located at 55 Strawberry Avenue in Lewiston and serves the Lewiston/Auburn community as well as its outlying areas. Rene Morin, Central Maine Credit Union’s Board Chairman, presented the donation to Steven Dostie, Executive Director of GAHS. A group of Central Maine Federal Credit Union employees recently gave of themselves by donating their blood to the American Red Cross. Participating in the group donation held at Central Maine Medical Center was Stephanie Farrar, Lisa Sargent, Derek Thebarge, Elaine Roy, Rita Ouellette, Michelle Davis and Trina Mercier.
